Post subject: | Curve Fitting, How to fit Gaussian Curve |
I am trying to fit a Gaussian equation in Visual Basic 6: f(z) = k * exp((-k^2)*(z-0.11)^2) / Sqrt(pi). I have the set of "f(z)" values with different values of "z". Now I want to find the value of "k" which best fitts with my data and the Gaussian equation. I would like to use ALGLIB with VB6 to give me values for "k". Please tell me how to Implement it. I have already gone through all the functions by ALGLIB but not possible for me to use. |

ALGLIB for VBA/VB6 is not up-to-date (version number is still 2.6), so it doesn't support modern fitting features, nor it supports examples. I recommend you to read viewtopic.php?f=2&t=61 - it contains some information about nonlinear fitting in VBA along with code snippets. |
