Post subject: | How to fit a non-linear equation |
This may be a dumb question, as I am an inexperienced programmer with limited mathematical abilities to boot. That being said, I'm trying to fit the following equation: y^2 = 1 + ((b1*x^2)/(x^2-c1)) + ((b2*x^2)/(x^2-c2)) + ((b3*x^2)/(x^2-c3)) I have a list of sets of X and Y values, and would like to use ALGLIB with VB6 to give me values for b1, b2, b3, c1, c2, and c3. Is ALGLIB right for the job? I think I need to use the minLM module, but I can't figure out how to use it: Where to enter in my equation, what subroutines to call, etc. I couldn't find any examples of it being used so I could see what's going on. Is there a relatively simple way to do this? Thanks! |
